My name is Ethan Seder and I am pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering from Harvard. The goal of this website is to show my interest in building, tinkering, and designing. Included are some of my projects, past and present.
Harvard SEAS Racing Team
Managed six team members and oversaw financial and operational processes. Designed and manufactured an ultra-efficient transmission to minimize rotating mass during coasting.
Conducted detailed and tailored assessments of new market expansions for Lemonade Insurance. Created deliverables and presented research and recommendations to CEO.

SEAS Racing Team
I have been a part of Harvard’s SEAS racing team for two years. We are building a fuel-efficient vehicle to compete in the SAE Super-mileage Competition. Last year, I designed and manufactured the rear wheel and transmission to minimize power loss. In June 2018, we placed the highest of any first-year teams.
As President of the team, I have handled administrative duties such as scheduling, budgeting, and complying with regulations. From machining to carbon fiber manufacturing, I am working hard to engineer our race car to be fast and fuel efficient.
ES51: Computer Aided Machine Design focuses on the design and construction of mechanical and electromechanical devices. I learned engineering graphics, sketching, dimensioning, tolerancing, materials selection, structural design, and the necessity of precision in design and manufacturing. Our team designed and manufactured a robot that won 2nd place in the class competition.
